"Invalid tag: FORMAT_DICT" error

Symptoms

After upgrading a BusinessObjects (BOBJ) environment, you may encounter the error with 360Suite feature like 360Cast or 360Bind:
  1. Unexpected exception: Failed to parse document. Invalid tag: FORMAT_DICT
These features typically work with documents, opening and reading these documents.

Cause

This error is caused by library incompatibility between the version of BOBJ libraries used by 360Suite and the upgraded BOBJ environment version.
When a BOBJ environment is upgraded, its libraries change. If 360Suite is not updated to reference the new BOBJ libraries, certain features (especially document parsing) will fail.

Resolution

To fix the issue:
  1. Re-run the 360Suite setup after upgrading BOBJ.
  2. During setup, ensure the path to the BOBJ libraries points to the updated version.
This process rebuilds the application library to match the new BOBJ environment.
