360Live Watchers: Understanding the meaning of each Condition Type

Symptom

This article aims to provide additional details to the following different conditions that are available when creating an alert:
  1. Instant Value: alert triggered whenever the specified criterion is met.
  2. Duration: alert triggered if the specified criterion is met for the specified number of consecutive monitoring ticks.
  3. Mean Validity: alert triggered if the criterion is met on the basis of a ratio of the specified number of ticks to a given maximum number of ticks (e.g.: 5 ticks out of 15 meet the specified value).
  4. Mean Value: alert triggered if the average value calculated over the specified number of ticks (last n ticks) meets the criterion (e.g.: 10 ticks specified; CPU load of 60% specified: if, over 10 ticks, the average CPU load reaches 60%: trigger alert).
